Primary Teacher – KS1 / KS2 | DE7

Do you love those classroom moments when curiosity turns into a brilliant discovery?

Do you want to work with a welcoming team who share ideas and support one another?

Are you looking for a school where children’s confidence matters as much as their progress?

TeacherActive is looking for an enthusiastic KS1 / KS2 Primary Teacher to support a welcoming school in DE7, where teamwork, curiosity and care shape everyday learning.

With a curriculum rooted in its pupils and local community, the school encourages children to explore ideas, build confidence and take pride in their progress. Staff work closely with families to help every child feel valued, supporting their academic, social and emotional development.

The work is on a flexible supply basis, with the potential to develop into a long-term placement for the right teacher. Whether you want to broaden your KS1 / KS2 experience, get to know new school teams or find your next longer-term opportunity, we’d love to hear from you.

What will your role include?

  • Delivering engaging KS1 / KS2 lessons that encourage curiosity and participation.

  • Adapting teaching to meet individual needs and support pupils with SEND.

  • Building a positive classroom where children feel comfortable asking questions.

  • Following school routines and encouraging respectful, responsible behaviour.

  • Working with colleagues to maintain continuity and share feedback on learning.

What will the successful Primary Teacher bring?

You’ll hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching the UK primary curriculum, with a sound understanding of KS1 / KS2 teaching and learning. We’re looking for someone approachable, caring and adaptable, who brings high expectations and makes time to understand the children in their classroom. You’ll enjoy sharing ideas with colleagues, use calm and consistent behaviour management, and support pupils’ confidence alongside their academic progress. A commitment to safeguarding and an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply, are essential.

Why work with TeacherActive?

We want to understand what makes a role right for you. From your preferred year groups to the kind of school environment you enjoy, we’ll listen to what matters and work hard to find suitable opportunities.

You’ll benefit from:

  • A dedicated consultant and access to 24/7 support, providing advice when you need it.

  • CPD through MyProgression, helping you develop your knowledge and teaching practice.

  • Competitive rates and weekly PAYE pay.

  • Regular check-ins and ongoing support throughout your placements.

  • A refer-a-friend scheme, rewarding you for recommending fellow education professionals.

Bring your ideas, enthusiasm and love of teaching—we’ll help you find your next opportunity.
