Are you a qualified Primary Teacher looking for greater flexibility?

TeacherActive works with a number of welcoming, inclusive and supportive primary schools across Derby and Derbyshire. We are seeking passionate Primary Teachers to provide flexible day-to-day and short-term cover.
This is a great opportunity to experience different school environments, develop your classroom practice and work around your other commitments. Supply bookings can also lead to longer-term roles when the right placement becomes available.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Teaching across Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2
- Delivering lessons using plans and resources provided by the school
- Adapting activities to meet pupils’ individual needs
- Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement
- Creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Supporting pupils with different abilities and backgrounds
- Marking completed work and providing feedback
- Following school policies and safeguarding procedures
The successful Primary Teacher will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status/QTS
- Have knowledge of the UK Primary Curriculum
- Be passionate about children’s education and development
- Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Be supportive, inclusive and approachable
- Be flexible and confident working across different settings
- Be reliable and able to adapt quickly
- Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
- Understand safeguarding, KCSIE and the Prevent Duty, or be willing to undertake relevant CPD training
