Salary: £140 - £200 per day

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming primary school in Derby (DE21) to recruit an enthusiastic Early Years Teacher for a long-term position. The school is looking for a teacher who can bring energy and creativity into the Early Years classroom while providing the structure, consistency and nurturing environment young children need to thrive.

This Early Years Teacher position will involve planning and delivering the EYFS curriculum, developing purposeful continuous provision and creating opportunities for children to learn through play. You will use observations and Assessment for Learning (AfL) to identify next steps, scaffold activities for different levels of ability and monitor progress towards the Early Learning Goals. Strong phonics knowledge and an understanding of SEND and adaptive teaching will be important in ensuring every child can participate, progress and build confidence.

The successful Early Years Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with applications welcomed from Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum, Early Learning Goals and effective phonics teaching.
• An understanding of continuous provision, creative play and how these can be used to develop purposeful learning.
• Confidence using observations, Assessment for Learning (AfL) and scaffolding to identify and support children's next steps.
• Knowledge of SEND and the ability to adapt teaching to meet a range of individual learning needs.
• A creative, nurturing and enthusiastic approach to Early Years education. A driving licence would be beneficial.
