Contract: Full-time | Maternity Cover
Salary: Main Pay Scale (MPS), dependent on experience
TeacherActive are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English & Media Teacher for a full-time maternity cover opportunity at a well-established secondary school in Swindon, starting January 2027.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to join a supportive English department, working within a school that values high standards, professional development and engaging teaching.
The Role
Deliver engaging English lessons across the secondary curriculum.
Teach Media Studies as required.
Plan and deliver creative lessons that inspire and challenge students.
Assess pupil progress and maintain high expectations for achievement.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support teaching and learning.
Maintain positive classroom behaviour and an inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Has experience teaching English at secondary level.
Is confident teaching Media Studies or willing to develop their skills in the subject.
Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management.
Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to student progress.
Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
