TeacherActive is proud to be working with an Alternative Provision based in Carlisle, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Qualified Teacher. The setting supports secondary-aged students who benefit from an alternative approach to mainstream education, with a focus on providing engaging learning opportunities, building confidence and helping young people achieve positive outcomes.

The provision is looking to take on a Qualified Teacher on a permanent, full-time basis from January 2027. The successful Qualified Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across core subjects including Maths, English and Science, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs whilst maintaining positive behaviour management and a supportive classroom environment.

The successful Qualified Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with relevant secondary teaching experience

• Experience delivering core subjects including Maths, English and Science at secondary level

• Experience working within an Alternative Provision, SEND or SEMH setting would be desirable

• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to support students with challenging behaviours

• The ability to differentiate lessons and adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs

• A patient, resilient and enthusiastic approach with excellent communication skills
