Salary: £35,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

TeacherActive is currently recruiting a qualified and passionate Science Teacher for a permanent opportunity at a secondary school in Hackney. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join a dedicated Science department and contribute to the continued development of teaching and learning across the school.

The successful candidate will teach general Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that inspire curiosity, encourage scientific thinking and support students in achieving their academic goals.

We work closely with a wide network of secondary schools across London, helping teachers find opportunities that match their skills, experience and career aspirations. Our consultants combine classroom experience with recruitment expertise, providing practical advice and support throughout the recruitment process.

The successful Science Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Science specialism; ECTs are welcome to apply.
• Experience teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
