TeacherActive is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive primary school seeking a dedicated and resilient Instructor with experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children who require additional emotional and behavioural support to access learning successfully.

The successful candidate will work closely with pupils across the primary age range, delivering tailored learning activities, promoting positive behaviour strategies, and helping pupils develop the confidence and skills needed to thrive both academically and socially.

The Role

• Deliver engaging and accessible learning activities to pupils requiring additional support.
• Support children with SEMH needs to engage positively in education and classroom activities.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils to encourage emotional regulation and resilience.
• Implement behaviour support strategies in line with school policies and individual support plans.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, pastoral teams and parents to support pupil progress.
• Foster a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs in a school, alternative provision or similar setting.
• Experience managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach.
• A passion for supporting vulnerable learners to achieve their potential.
• Relevant qualifications or training in education, behaviour support or youth work would be advantageous but are not essential.
