TeacherActive is proud to be working with an alternative provision in Shropshire SY21 supporting secondary-aged young people with SEMH needs. The setting provides a supportive environment focused on helping students engage positively with their education and access learning that meets their individual needs.

The provision is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a temporary basis, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am until 4:30pm. The successful Teaching Assistant will support secondary-aged students one-to-one and in small groups of no more than four, with opportunities for off-site working once confident in the role, and successful candidates will also be offered three days of RTI training.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting secondary-aged young people with SEMH needs
• Experience working one-to-one and with small groups of young people
• A confident and adaptable approach to supporting students accessing alternative provision
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, resilient and positive approach
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
