TeacherActive is proud to be working with PRU settings across Birmingham, supporting pupils from Primary age through to Key Stage 4 / KS4. These provisions provide structured and supportive environments for pupils who require additional support with their social, emotional and mental health needs, behaviour and engagement.

We are looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant to work across flexible day-to-day and long-term opportunities, supporting pupils both in the classroom and on a 1:1 or small group basis. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will be expected to build positive relationships, support learning and behaviour, and help pupils remain engaged with their education.

The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people in a PRU, SEMH, SEND or similar setting
• Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
• Strong behaviour management skills
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
• Flexibility and adaptability when working across different age groups
