Salary: £92 - £95 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist ALN school based in Ebbw Vale, supporting children and young people aged 3 to 19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional learning needs. The school focuses on creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment, using sensory activities, early learning development and outdoor learning opportunities to encourage engagement, confidence and independence.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term supply basis, starting immediately. The successful ASD Teaching Assistant will support pupils with autism and behavioural needs, helping to manage challenging behaviours positively, deliver sensory-based activities and encourage early learning development through structured classroom support and outdoor learning experiences.
The successful ASD Teaching Assistant will have:
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or training in Additional Learning Needs / ALN (desirable)
Experience supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD and behavioural needs
Experience working within a specialist ALN setting or supporting pupils with additional learning needs
An understanding of positive behaviour management strategies, sensory learning and early childhood development
The ability to support pupils across a wide age range, adapting activities to individual learning and developmental needs
A patient, resilient and caring approach with strong communication skills and a willingness to engage in outdoor learning
