TeacherActive is delighted to be working with a welcoming SEND school in Telford that provides high-quality education for primary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs. The school prides itself on creating a positive, supportive environment where every child is encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally through personalised learning.

The school is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with needs including Autism / ASD, Moderate Learning Difficulties / MLD, Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD and communication needs. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to help pupils access learning, build confidence and reach their individual targets.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND

• Knowledge of Autism / ASD and other additional learning needs

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• A caring, patient and adaptable approach

• The ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals

• Team Teach, Makaton or PECS experience is desirable but not essential
