TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist ALN school based in Penarth, supporting pupils across Key Stage 2 (KS2) and Key Stage 3 (KS3) with a range of additional learning needs, including ASD and SEMH. The school provides a specialist learning environment focused on supporting pupils with their educational, social and emotional development.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Behaviour / Complex Needs Teaching Assistant on a full-time, temporary basis with an immediate start. The successful Behaviour / Complex Needs Teaching Assistant will support pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, assist with managing challenging behaviour, implement positive behaviour strategies and work closely with teaching staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
The successful Behaviour / Complex Needs Teaching Assistant will have:
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or training in ALN, desirable but not essential
Experience supporting children or young people with ASD, SEMH or challenging behaviour, desirable but not essential
An understanding of positive behaviour management strategies
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with complex needs
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
