Job Title: Teaching Assistant

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a primary school based in Ashington, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant. The school supports pupils across Key Stage 1 / KS1 and Key Stage 2 / KS2, providing an inclusive learning environment where children with additional needs are encouraged to develop their confidence, independence and academic abilities.
The school is looking to take on an experienced Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis for an immediate start. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with Autism / ASD across KS1 and KS2, working closely with class teachers and the wider SEN team to implement individual learning strategies, support classroom engagement and promote positive behaviour.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification would be desirable
Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential
Experience providing 1:1 support to pupils with Autism / ASD
A good understanding of strategies to support communication, behaviour and individual learning needs
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, teachers and support staff
A patient, adaptable and enthusiastic approach with a genuine passion for supporting children's development
