TeacherActive is looking for experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to work across mainstream primary schools throughout Leeds.

Schools require additional support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, including general SEND classroom support, 1:1 support and small-group interventions. Opportunities are available on a day-to-day basis alongside long-term placements and potentially permanent positions.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will:

  • Have previous experience supporting children with SEND

  • Have experience with needs such as Autism/ASC, ADHD and SEMH

  • Be confident providing 1:1 support

  • Have an understanding of EHCPs and individual support plans

  • Be able to support children with emotional regulation

  • Have strong behaviour management skills

  • Be calm, patient and consistent when supporting pupils

  • Ideally hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification

Experience within mainstream primary schools, SEND provisions, alternative provisions or specialist settings will all be considered.
