Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Salary: £92 - £95 per day
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties / PMLD and complex additional learning needs?
Do you have experience with manual handling and PEG feeding, supporting pupils with complex physical and medical needs?
Are you a patient, caring and adaptable Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting pupils through sensory learning and play-based activities?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist ALN school based in Cardiff, supporting children and young people aged 3 to 19 with PMLD and complex additional learning needs. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, with a strong focus on sensory learning, learning through play and supporting each pupil's individual development, communication and independence.
The school is looking to take on a dedicated Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term temporary basis, with an immediate start. The successful Teaching Assistant will support pupils with PMLD and complex needs, assisting with sensory activities, individual learning programmes, personal care, manual handling and PEG feeding in accordance with individual care plans and appropriate training.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience supporting pupils with ALN
Experience working with children and young people with PMLD and complex additional learning needs
Previous experience and appropriate training in manual handling and PEG feeding
Experience supporting pupils with physical disabilities, mobility needs and personal care requirements
A strong understanding of sensory learning, play-based activities and alternative communication methods
A patient, compassionate and adaptable approach with excellent communication and teamwork skills
