Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Salary: £92-£95 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist education provision based in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan, supporting pupils across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4 with SEMH needs, trauma and challenging behaviour. The provision focuses on providing a supportive and structured learning environment where pupils can develop their confidence, emotional regulation and positive relationships.
The provision is looking to take on a confident and resilient Teaching Assistant from November on a full-time, long-term temporary basis. The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping to manage challenging situations, encourage engagement in learning and promote positive behaviour through consistent boundaries, physical activities and relationship building.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience working with young people
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, trauma or challenging behaviour
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
A sporty and outgoing personality with a willingness to engage pupils through physical activities
A resilient, patient and adaptable approach to supporting young people
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
