TeacherActive is delighted to be working with a highly respected independent specialist education provider in Isleworth, London, seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time, five-days-per-week, one-to-one support role, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the educational journey of a young adult with additional learning needs.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated one-to-one support, helping your learner access education, engage with learning activities and build the confidence needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. You will adapt learning approaches to suit individual needs, encourage independence, promote positive behaviour and celebrate every achievement, no matter how big or small.

Working closely with teachers, therapists and the wider support team, you will help create engaging, practical learning experiences that motivate students and develop essential life skills. This role would suit someone who is patient, empathetic, proactive and passionate about supporting young people with autism and additional needs to achieve meaningful outcomes and prepare for life beyond education.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience supporting children or young adults with SEND, autism or additional learning needs within education, care or support settings
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach with excellent behaviour management skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for helping young people develop confidence, independence and life skills
  • A proactive attitude and commitment to creating positive outcomes for every learner
