Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £92.63 - £110 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School based in Sheffield, who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. The school supports pupils across Key Stage 1 / KS1 and Key Stage 2 / KS2, providing opportunities to work with children who have a variety of additional learning needs.
The school is looking to take on an SEN Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be providing 1:1 and classroom support to pupils with a mixture of special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum, manage their emotions and behaviours, and develop their confidence and independence while working closely with class teachers and the school's SENCO.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
Experience supporting children with special educational needs / SEN in a primary school or similar setting
Experience working with pupils with Autism / ASD, ADHD, SEMH or other additional learning needs
Confidence providing 1:1 support and adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
A patient, caring and resilient approach with a positive 'can-do' attitude
