TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND provision in South Bristol to recruit a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA). The school provides a nurturing, structured and therapeutic learning environment for children and young people with additional needs, placing a strong focus on developing confidence, independence and emotional resilience while ensuring every pupil receives the support they need to achieve their full potential.

We are looking to appoint a full-time SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) on a long-term basis for a September start. The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) will work closely with pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition), ADHD and associated learning needs, providing both academic and emotional support while using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies to encourage engagement, independence and positive outcomes.

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) will have:

• Proven experience supporting children and young people with SEND, particularly SEMH, ASC and ADHD.
• Experience managing behaviours that challenge within an education, care, residential, youth work or support setting.
• Team Teach, PRICE, MAPA or other positive behaviour management and de-escalation training is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual pupil needs.
• A calm, patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
