Are you a passionate and nurturing teacher who thrives on making a difference? Do you have experience supporting children with additional needs and a creative approach to delivering engaging lessons?

TeacherActive is proud to be working in partnership with a fantastic mainstream primary school in Rubery, Birmingham, who are looking for a dedicated SEND Teacher to join their team on a long-term supply basis, starting ASAP!

About the Role

Due to the high number of pupils with additional needs, the school has established a dedicated SEND classroom catering for children across mixed age groups, from EYFS to Year 2.

You will be responsible for delivering a creative, engaging and differentiated curriculum, ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn, develop and reach their full potential.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring, adaptable and enthusiastic teacher who understands that every child learns differently. You'll be working alongside two dedicated Teaching Assistants, who provide additional support, including 1:1 assistance, to help meet the individual needs of the pupils.

The children require a patient, nurturing and understanding approach, so building positive relationships and creating a safe, supportive learning environment will be key.

‍ The Ideal SEND Teacher Will Have:

• UK QTS and previous experience working within SEND

• A good understanding of the National Curriculum

• The ability to plan and deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons

• A patient, positive and nurturing approach to teaching

• The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

• Confident classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to individual needs
