TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school based in Birkenhead, who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant. The school provides a supportive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop their confidence, independence and positive relationships while accessing education suited to their individual needs.

The school is looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant from January on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASC, ADHD and communication difficulties, helping them access classroom learning, develop their independence and build positive relationships with staff and peers.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, Level 2 or Level 3, is desirable

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly ASC, ADHD or communication difficulties

• Experience supporting pupils with their learning and promoting independence

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• A patient, caring and adaptable approach

• A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
