• Are you confident supporting pupils across mixed age groups in both SEND and mainstream environments?
• Are you comfortable providing personal care and supporting pupils with a range of individual needs?

TeacherActive is working with SEND and mainstream education settings in Carlisle that are looking for a caring and reliable Teaching Assistant to join their teams. The settings provide supportive learning environments where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and personally.

The Teaching Assistant role will initially be temporary with opportunities to develop into a long-term position, working full time across mixed age groups. You will support pupils with their learning and development, assist with classroom activities, manage behaviour positively and provide personal care where required.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people in an education or care setting
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable
• Confidence providing personal care where required
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, caring and resilient approach
• The ability to work effectively as part of a school team
