TeacherActive is looking for a caring and confident SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS1 and KS2 at a lovely school in the NG9 area. You’ll work with children with a range of needs, including ASD, SEMH and complex SEND. Regular supply work is available, with the potential for a long-term placement for the right person.
What the role involves
Supporting pupils in lessons and throughout the school day.
Taking time to understand each child’s needs, interests and what helps them engage.
Adapting activities and support so pupils can access learning.
Helping children develop confidence, relationships and emotional regulation.
Working closely with teachers, other staff and SENCOs to provide consistent support.
What we’re looking for
Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASD, SEMH or complex needs.
A patient, caring and empathetic approach.
The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
Confidence responding to individual needs and changing situations.
An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.
