Job Title: Specialist Support Assistant
Location: Nuneaton

Salary: £100 - £120 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working in partnership with King Edward VI College in Nuneaton to recruit a dedicated Specialist Support Assistant. The college provides education for students aged 16-18, offering a supportive learning environment that encourages academic achievement, personal development and independence.
The college is seeking a committed Specialist Support Assistant for a short-term, full-time position from Monday 2nd November until Friday 18th December 2026. The successful candidate will provide tailored 1:1 classroom support to students aged 16-18 with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access the curriculum, engage confidently in lessons and develop essential skills for independent learning.
Working hours:
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 8:30am - 4:30pm
Wednesday and Friday: 8:30am - 2:45pm
The successful Specialist Support Assistant will have:
A relevant Teaching Assistant or SEN qualification (desirable)
Previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Proven experience delivering 1:1 support within a classroom or educational setting
The ability to differentiate learning activities and adapt support strategies to meet individual student needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive working relationships with students and staff
A patient, compassionate and proactive approach, alongside a positive 'can-do' attitude
