Do you have experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a primary school setting?

Are you adaptable, patient and confident supporting pupils both on a 1:1 basis and within the classroom?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School based in Bristol, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant. The school provides an inclusive learning environment, supporting children with a range of abilities and additional learning needs to develop their confidence, independence and academic skills.

The school is looking to take on an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant from January 2027 on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful Teaching Assistant will support pupils across the primary age range, providing general classroom assistance, delivering 1:1 support and working with children with SEND, while helping the class teacher maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable

• Experience working with children in a mainstream primary school setting

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs

• Confidence providing 1:1 support and assisting with small group activities

• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills

• A patient, caring and adaptable approach to supporting children's learning and development
