  • Positions across primary schools throughout Carmarthenshire
  • 1:1 pupil support
  • Small-group learning and intervention support

Before recommending you for a role, we’ll take the time to understand what you’re looking for. That means we can focus on opportunities that are genuinely suited to you, rather than simply finding you a vacancy.

You may already have the skills schools are looking for

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant isn’t essential.

Skills gained through childcare, nursery work, youth work, sports and coaching, mentoring, residential care, volunteering or other roles working with children and young people can all transfer well into a school environment.

We’re looking for individuals who are:

  • Patient, caring and approachable
  • Dependable and professional
  • Comfortable working with children
  • Positive and encouraging
  • Confident building relationships with pupils
  • Passionate about helping children progress
  • Able to work effectively as part of a school team

A rewarding role in the classroom

Teaching Assistants play an important part in helping pupils get the most from their time at school.

Depending on the position, you could be supporting a class teacher, working closely with an individual pupil or helping a small group develop their skills.

Your responsibilities could include:

  • Assisting with classroom lessons and activities
  • Supporting pupils with their learning
  • Working 1:1 or with small groups
  • Encouraging participation and engagement
  • Promoting positive behaviour
  • Helping pupils develop independence and confidence
  • Providing pastoral and practical support
  • Contributing to an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
