TeacherActive is working with welcoming primary schools and early years settings across Fishguard and the wider Pembrokeshire area, who are looking for enthusiastic and caring Early Years Teaching Assistants to support children's development during these important early stages of education.
The Role
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in creating a safe, engaging and nurturing environment where children can develop socially, emotionally and academically.
You will support children by:
- Encouraging curiosity, confidence and independence through play-based learning.
- Supporting children's communication, language and social development.
- Helping deliver engaging activities that support early learning goals.
- Building positive relationships with children, families and school staff.
- Supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) where required.
- Working alongside teachers and practitioners to create an inclusive learning environment in line with the Curriculum for Wales.
We'd Love to Hear From You If You Have Experience In...
You don't necessarily need previous school experience. We're interested in people who have transferable skills from roles such as:
- Nursery Practitioner or Early Years Worker.
- Childcare or preschool settings.
- Family support or community work.
- Youth work.
- Children's activity clubs or holiday camps.
- Care or support work.
- Any role where you've helped children learn, develop or feel supported.
The most important qualities are a caring approach, patience, reliability and a genuine passion for helping children thrive.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with young children or supporting their development.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, nurturing and positive approach.
- The ability to encourage confidence and independence.
- A willingness to support every child's individual needs, including those with ALN.
