TeacherActive is proud to be working with a primary ALN unit in Neath supporting pupils aged 3-11 with Autism / ASD, including non-verbal pupils. The unit provides a supportive environment where pupils can develop their communication, independence and engagement with learning.

The school is looking to take on an ALN Primary Teaching Assistant on a full-time, temporary basis from after October half term. The successful ALN Primary Teaching Assistant will support pupils within the ASD unit, helping to manage challenging behaviour, support non-verbal communication and ensure pupils can engage positively with their learning.

The successful ALN Primary Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with Autism / ASD
• Experience supporting non-verbal pupils
• Confidence managing challenging behaviour
• A patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication skills
• A positive and adaptable attitude
