Teaching Assistant – Special Resource Base (SRB)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work full-time within a Special Resource Base (SRB) class in a primary school in Tonypandy. This is a long-term role starting in September and continuing for the full academic year.

The successful candidate will support pupils across KS1 and KS2 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional learning needs, helping to create a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have previous experience working with children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), particularly ASD
• Be patient, nurturing and understanding
• Possess excellent relationship-building and communication skills
• Be confident supporting pupils across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
• Be adaptable and able to respond to individual pupil needs
• Be comfortable providing personal care where required

The Role Includes:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assisting with classroom activities and emotional regulation
• Encouraging independence and positive behaviour
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider SRB team
• Providing personal care support when necessary
