Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Salary: £85-£95 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream school based in Ebbw Vale, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils across a range of age groups. The school is looking for someone who can create a positive and encouraging learning environment, helping pupils build confidence and develop their core literacy and numeracy skills.
The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant for 2 days per week from November 2026 on a temporary, long-term basis. The successful Teaching Assistant will work with small intervention groups across different year groups, delivering targeted support in reading, writing and maths, adapting activities to meet individual learning needs and working closely with teaching staff to monitor pupil progress.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
Experience supporting pupils in a mainstream school setting
Experience delivering literacy and numeracy interventions to small groups
A good understanding of the Curriculum for Wales
Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to different age groups and abilities
A patient, enthusiastic and proactive approach to supporting children's learning
