Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant
Location: Bargoed
Start Date: January 2027
Salary: £85.50 – £93 per day
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Temporary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Early Years Teaching Assistant to join the school on a full-time, long-term basis from January.
The successful candidate will work within the Early Years setting, supporting children through play-based learning, practical activities and daily classroom routines. Some pupils have Additional Learning Needs (ALN), so patience, adaptability and a nurturing approach are essential.
We are looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant with the following:
Experience working with children in an Early Years or Primary School setting
A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners
Confidence supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
An understanding of play-based learning and early childhood development
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
The ability to use initiative and adapt to the needs of individual pupils
A genuine passion for helping children develop confidence, independence and social skills
The successful Teaching Assistant will be responsible for:
Supporting the class teacher with daily activities and classroom routines
Encouraging learning through play, exploration and creative activities
Providing additional support to pupils with ALN where required
Helping children develop their communication, social and emotional skills
Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
