Job Title: Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant

Start Date: January 2027
Salary: £85.50 - £93 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School based in Aberdare, who are looking to appoint a Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant. The school provides a welcoming and inclusive learning environment, with a focus on supporting children's development and encouraging a positive attitude towards learning.
The school is looking to take on an enthusiastic Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant from January on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful applicant will be working within a Reception class, supporting the class teacher with daily activities, delivering engaging learning experiences and helping pupils develop their confidence, communication and early learning skills through the medium of Welsh.
The successful Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant will have:
Fluent Welsh language skills, both written and spoken
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
Experience working with children in a Primary School or Early Years / Foundation Learning setting
A good understanding of child development and early years learning
Strong communication and classroom management skills
A patient, caring and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners
