Teaching Assistant

TeacherActive is looking for a Teaching Assistant to provide day-to-day cover at a primary school in NG24. The school has great facilities, encourages children to take pride in their work and values positive relationships with pupils and parents. For the right Teaching Assistant, this could become a long-term placement.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the teacher with lessons and classroom activities across KS1 / KS2.
• Work one-to-one with pupils who need extra help.
• Encourage children to stay engaged, build confidence and develop independence.
• Adapt your support to suit individual learning needs.
• Help maintain a positive, productive classroom environment.

You’ll be a great Teaching Assistant if you have:

• Experience supporting pupils with the UK primary curriculum.
• Previous one-to-one support experience.
• A warm, patient approach and strong communication skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
• An Enhanced DBS registered onto the Update Service.
• SEND experience, which would be an advantage.
