Salary: £92.63 - £120 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a well-established Pupil Referral Unit in Bury, rated Good by OFSTED. The setting is committed to providing a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where pupils are supported to overcome barriers to education through strong relationships, consistency and a trauma-informed approach.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis starting in September, with the opportunity to move onto a permanent salary following a successful trial period. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will support students with trauma, mental health needs and SEMH, helping to manage challenging behaviour, promote positive engagement and encourage both academic and personal development.
The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, trauma or mental health needs
- Experience managing challenging behaviour in an education, care or youth work setting
- A calm, resilient and patient approach to supporting pupils
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in
- A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their full potential
