The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work alongside teachers and other education professionals to support pupils with their learning, development, wellbeing and behaviour.

Depending on the school and role, your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting the class teacher with lessons and classroom activities
• Working with individual pupils or small groups to support learning
• Helping pupils remain engaged, focused and confident in the classroom
• Providing one-to-one support where required
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
• Encouraging positive behaviour and good classroom routines
• Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills
• Providing pastoral and practical support throughout the school day
• Creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment

Teaching Assistant Experience – What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is not always essential.
