TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School based in Ilkeston, DE7, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant. The school is seeking a confident and enthusiastic individual who can provide consistent classroom support, manage challenging behaviours effectively and help create a positive learning environment for pupils.
The school is looking to take on a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from ASAP until July 2027, working within a Year 6 classroom. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide general classroom support, assist with learning activities, implement positive behaviour management strategies and work closely with the class teacher to support pupil progress and engagement.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (essential)
Experience supporting children within Key Stage 2 / KS2, ideally Year 6
Experience working with pupils who display challenging behaviours
Strong knowledge of positive behaviour management strategies
Confidence supporting whole-class learning, small groups and individual pupils
A patient, resilient and adaptable approach with excellent communication skills
