Salary: £95 - £120 per day

TeacherActive is working with an inclusive primary school in Ilkeston that is looking for a dedicated Year 6 Teaching Assistant to strengthen its Upper KS2 team. The school is focused on ensuring pupils with additional needs receive consistent, individualised support that enables them to participate fully in school life and achieve their potential.

The Year 6 Teaching Assistant will work full-time, approximately 8:30am to 4pm, supporting pupils within the classroom as well as through targeted 1:1 and small group interventions. Working closely with the class teacher and wider support team, you will adapt activities, support pupils with SEND and behavioural needs, use regulation and positive behaviour strategies, and contribute to monitoring progress, including pupils working within Pre-Key Stage standards.

The successful Year 6 Teaching Assistant will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, an equivalent qualification, or at least 6 months' relevant experience
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally within KS2 or Upper KS2
• A good understanding of the primary curriculum, adaptive teaching and Pre-Key Stage assessment
• Confidence supporting both educational additional needs and behavioural needs through 1:1 and small group work
• Knowledge of positive behaviour strategies and approaches that support emotional regulation
• A collaborative, patient and adaptable approach to working alongside teachers, support staff and pupils
