TeacherActive is working in partnership with a number of vibrant secondary schools across Derby that are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join their support teams. These schools are committed to creating positive learning environments where students are encouraged to thrive and staff are valued for the contribution they make.
We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support secondary schools across Derby from September. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions, and assist students on a one-to-one and small group basis. This Teaching Assistant role offers flexible day-to-day opportunities with the potential to progress into long-term placements. The successful Teaching Assistant will be confident, adaptable, and passionate about supporting young people throughout their educational journey.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
• At least 6 months' experience working within a UK education setting
• Experience supporting students within a secondary school environment
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• The ability to build positive working relationships with students and colleagues
• A patient, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential
