Salary: £92.63 - £115 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Pupil Referral Unit / PRU based in Stockport, supporting children and young people who require additional support outside of a mainstream school environment. The provision is looking for a confident and committed SEMH Teaching Assistant who can provide a positive and consistent approach to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs.

The Pupil Referral Unit is looking to take on an SEMH Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will support pupils with challenging behaviour, helping them to engage with their learning, manage their emotions and behaviours, and develop positive relationships within the setting.

The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs or within a PRU, SEND or alternative provision setting
• Strong behaviour management skills
• The ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people
• A resilient, patient and adaptable approach
• A positive ‘can-do’ attitude
