TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school based in North Bristol to recruit a dedicated Team Teach SEND Teaching Assistant. The school supports children and young people with Autism / ASD, Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties / PMLD, sensory processing needs and behaviours that challenge, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence and independence.

The school is looking to appoint a Team Teach SEND Teaching Assistant from January 2027 on a full-time, long-term temporary basis, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful Team Teach SEND Teaching Assistant will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide one-to-one and small group support, using Team Teach strategies to promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

The successful Team Teach SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• A current Team Teach qualification, which is essential for this role

• At least 6 months' experience supporting children or young people with Autism / ASD, complex SEND or behaviours that challenge

• Experience working within SEND schools, specialist provisions, alternative provisions or care settings

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

• A calm, patient and resilient approach with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
