TeacherActive is proud to be working in partnership with a Local Authority in Gloucester to recruit an experienced Tutor to support pupils accessing Alternative Provision. This is an exciting opportunity to work with young people who require an individualised approach to learning, delivering high-quality education in home and community settings.
Through tailored one-to-one tuition, you will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, rebuild confidence, improve engagement, and work towards successful educational outcomes.
We are seeking a Tutor on a part-time basis, delivering up to 15 hours per week. Working closely with the Local Authority, you will plan and deliver engaging, personalised learning programmes that reflect each learner's academic ability, individual needs, and long-term goals.
The successful Tutor will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Proven experience planning and delivering high-quality, personalised lessons or one-to-one tuition.
Previous experience working within Alternative Provision, with a Local Authority, or supporting pupils educated outside of mainstream settings.
Experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH, EHCPs, or those facing barriers to education is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills.
The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people and adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles.
A patient, resilient, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting learners.
