TeacherActive is proud to be working with specialist provisions across Newcastle that are dedicated to supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. These settings provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils are encouraged to build confidence, develop resilience and achieve their full potential through personalised learning.

The specialist provisions are looking to appoint a Maths, English and Life Skills Tutor for both full-time and part-time opportunities starting in September 2026. The successful Maths, English and Life Skills Tutor will support pupils across Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5, delivering engaging, tailored lessons while building positive relationships that encourage academic progress, independence and personal development.

The successful Maths, English and Life Skills Tutor will have:

• Experience delivering Maths, English and/or Life Skills tuition across KS2 to KS5
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEMH needs
• Strong behaviour management and relationship building skills
• The ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs
• A patient, resilient and proactive approach
• A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential
