Upper KS2 Teacher

Yorkshire and Humber/ temporary / £140 - 225 per day

Are you confident delivering engaging lessons across the Upper KS2 curriculum and preparing pupils for the transition to secondary school?

TeacherActive is working with a number of welcoming primary schools across Bradford and the surrounding areas. We are looking for confident and adaptable Year 5/6 Primary School Teachers to provide day-to-day and longer-term cover across a variety of school settings.

The majority of opportunities will be flexible day-to-day supply, with long-term and potentially permanent positions available depending on individual schools' staffing requirements.

The successful Year 5/6 Primary School Teacher will have:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

  • Experience teaching Year 5 and/or Year 6

  • Strong knowledge of the Upper KS2 National Curriculum

  • Confidence teaching English and Maths at Year 5/6 level

  • Experience supporting pupils with SATs preparation is desirable

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • The ability to adapt quickly to different schools and classroom environments

  • A positive and professional approach to teaching

The role may involve:

  • Providing day-to-day cover across Year 5 and Year 6 classes

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across the Upper KS2 curriculum

  • Planning, marking and assessment during longer-term placements

  • Supporting pupils with SATs preparation and interventions

  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and learning

  • Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs

  • Working alongside Teaching Assistants and other school staff

  • Potential progression into long-term or permanent employment
