Job Title: SEMH Youth Worker
Location: Failsworth
Start Date: Immediate Start
Salary: £92.63 - £115 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a supportive SEND setting in Failsworth, providing a positive and structured environment for teenagers with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The setting is focused on building trusting relationships and helping young people feel safe, supported and able to engage positively with their education.

The setting is looking to appoint a SEMH Youth Worker on a full-time, long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful SEMH Youth Worker will support teenagers in the classroom and around the setting, help manage challenging behaviour calmly and positively, and build strong professional relationships with young people who may require additional emotional and behavioural support.

The successful SEMH Youth Worker will have:

• Experience working with teenagers in a school, youth work, care, support or similar setting
• Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour
• An understanding of SEMH needs and barriers to learning
• Confidence building positive and appropriate relationships with young people
• A calm, friendly and consistent approach to behaviour management
• Resilience, patience and strong communication skills
